EXCITING things are happening in Glenrowan and Benalla this autumn.
The Glenrowan Interpretive and Cultural Centre will be open soon, but in the meantime, visitors can learn about the Ned Kelly Gang and the legendary siege which took place at the Glenrowan Inn back in 1880 from the town's museums, attractions and memorabilia.
Bakery and café delights as well as pub meals will give you the strength to make your way to the nearby Glenrowan wine region, which has been around for more than 130 years.
If you want to work off some of the delicious treats you've indulged in, why not choose one of the many trail options at Mt Glenrowan, Chick Hill, The Alpine Views walk or the Warby Falls Heritage Trail?
The views from some of the highest points of these treks are simply gorgeous so don't forget your camera at sunrise or sunset.
If you want to go a little higher and experience an eagle eye view of the area, why not experience the amazing sensation of silent flight and the freedom of flying in a sailplane at the Gliding Club of Victoria in Benalla?
You can have a go at flying under the direct supervision of your instructor, or complete one of their Flying Start solo courses.
Private owners can also fly their own aircraft provided they meet the requirements.
