TAKE your tastebuds on a tour of Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley; they have hand–picked the GV's home–grown favourite flavours below:
1. The Chocolate Apple Factory – Emerald Bank complex Kialla – is the most delicious way of enjoying the Goulburn Valley's fresh produce.
Hand selected, locally grown Pink Lady apples are dipped in creamy caramel before being smothered in chocolate and decorated with a variety of sweets.
Explore the vast array of house made chocolates under the windmill – your only problem will be deciding what to take home with you.
2. The Good Dirt – popcorn on the cob, on sale at the Greater Shepparton Visitor Centre, 530 Wyndham St, Shepparton.
Hand–picked on the Pogue family farm in Ardmona 'The Good Dirt' popcorn on the cob is literally bursting with flavour.
The fifth generation farmers nurture their harvest from the ground up, embracing regenerative and sustainable farming practices.
The popcorn is naturally dried in the sun to produce a healthy and delicious snack, including traditional golden kernels and sweet mini 'baby blue' cobs.
3. Longleat Wines – 105 Old Weir Rd, Murchison.
Sandra and Guido Vazzoler welcome visitors to their vineyard with old school Italian hospitality and delicious wines.
Antipasti, handmade pasta and wood fired pizza compliment an array of Italian varietals for tasting so settle in for a long lunch with views of the vines or the fabulous ceramic mural 'Zingara' by local artist Angie Russi.
4. Tinto Kitchen – 217 High St Shepparton (corner of High and North Streets) – is one of Shepparton's newest (and smallest) gourmet locations and is certain to satisfy any sweet or savoury craving with their organic sourdough bread baked using single varietal flours and buttery hand crafted pastries.
Grab yourself the local's favourite 'morning bun'; a croissant pastry lovingly layered with aromatic spiced sugar and orange zest and the perfect partner to your morning coffee.
