Benalla Festival flying high

THE 2022 Benalla Festival, with its theme of 'Our Community, Our Future... a chance to reimagine, reconnect and celebrate', will be held over two weekends from October 29 to November 6 and is a celebration of lifestyle, community, country living and community spirit.

Featuring more than 40 events and exhibitions, the first weekend will see events held across its rural districts and townships while the second weekend will feature events in Benalla.

The Goorambat Music Festival and Hot Air Balloon Night Glow opens the festival from 5pm–9pm at Goorambat Recreation Reserve.

Entry is by gold coin donation and Goorambat skies will be transformed with a hot air balloon night glow (weather permitting).

There will also be live music in search of new local 'voices', children's entertainment and food and beverages.

A feature of the Festival will be the Benalla Airshow on November 5 from 9am–4pm at the Benalla Airport with unforgettable sights and the sounds of breathtaking flying displays, static displays of model aircraft, cars, gliders, aircraft, aviation museum, hot air balloons and children's entertainment.

Benalla By The Lake Food and Wine Festival will be held on November 5 from 3pm–9.30pm at the Lake Benalla Foreshore.

Entry is free and visitors can indulge in local wines, craft beers, local cheeses and street food.

Take a picnic rug and enjoy the entertainment by the lake or book a seat at the table with a grazing box by Fruits N Fare in the food and wine seated area – bookings are essential www.benallafestival.com.au.

The main stage will feature a vibrant mix of live music and entertainment culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.

A Day in the Gardens Market will be held at Benalla Botanical Gardens on November 6 from 9am–3pm with market stalls, kids' entertainment, music, come and try sporting events and food.
