MICHELLE Coad and Doug Stoneman, new owners of Kate's Cottage in Glenrowan welcome locals and visitors to come and see what's new in store.

Taking over from Rod and Chris Gerrett in June 2022, Michelle and Doug have made some upgrades to the look of the façade of the main building to truly bring it into the era of Ned Kelly and they have also updated it with unique street art pieces on the side wall to draw more visitors to Glenrowan.

While there are some changes afoot, the integral parts of the business – friendly customer service, knowledgeable owners and mountains of Kelly family history – remain intact.

Kate's Cottage (named after Ned's sister Kate) is situated opposite the big Ned Kelly Statue on the corner of Gladstone and Kate Streets and features a huge range of Ned Kelly and Australiana gifts and souvenirs.

At the back of the shop is the Ned Kelly Museum; the story unfolds as you follow the interpretive display of pictures and panels.

Out in the yard you will step into another era to find an authentic replica of the ramshackle hut the Kelly's called home, a blacksmith shed, cheeky talking cockatoos and covered picnic area.

Michelle and Doug are friendly and already knowledgeable on the subject of the Kelly's, and that is set to increase as they meet new and returning customers each and every day.

So call in today and welcome them to the area – they'd love to hear your Ned Kelly tales and might even have a new one to share with you.
