Show must go on

ONE of the region's most exciting annual events, the Euroa Agricultural Show, has locked in a new date of Saturday, December 3 after it was postponed due to flooding across the state.

The new date was confirmed by the Victorian Agricultural Shows Ltd (VAS) last Tuesday after extensive conversations with the event organisers, the Euroa Agricultural Society.

The confirmation of a new date less than six weeks away is great news for both local residents and the agricultural society, who were forced to postpone the event from its original date of October 22–23 following significant flooding across the state during the past two weeks.

There were initial fears that the event might be cancelled yet again, with the show already having taken a two–year hiatus due to COVID.

A statement was released by the Euroa Agricultural Society informing residents and participants about the change of date.

"We look forward to welcoming all," it said.

"We are currently working through the logistics of this situation and will provide updates as soon as possible via our Facebook page and website www.euroashow.org.au.

"An updated digital schedule will be available in the next couple of weeks, with entries to reopen at a date to be confirmed.

"Please note there will be updates to some sections, with a number of classes unable to go ahead, and additions made in replacement.

"To all who have completed an entry submission, we will be in touch with you in several weeks to confirm if you would like to carry forward your entries or request they be cancelled."

It has already been confirmed that all horse events will be postponed until March of next year, with an official date to be announced shortly.
