THERE is so much to see and do in the Euroa region from striking out along bike and walking tracks and trails, visiting community markets, enjoying nature at its absolute best to discovering some outstanding small businesses.
This spring there are plenty of events to enjoy right across the Shire as well as the weather warms up.
For car enthusiasts, the Nagambie Show and Shine will be held on September 18 at the Nagambie Regatta Centre while the Australian National Show and Shine will be held in Euroa on October 2.
For those craving some live music, a number of local venues offer live music and the Euroa Music Festival will be at the top of many musical lists when it rolls into town on November 5.
The festival has been described as a place where 'people come together to enjoy outstanding new artists in a small town that's ready to share the love'.
Showcasing some of Australia's most dynamic artists on the one stage, and surrounded by the ancient gum trees near the creek, this is one festival not to be missed.
On the eve of the Euroa Music Festival (Friday, November 4), the inaugural Out of Nowhere Battle of the Bands competition will keep groovers entertained as the five grand finalists perform in the main street of Euroa.
The winner will secure their spot on the 2023 Euroa Music Festival line–up plus win a recording, production and mentoring package from Small Time Group in Brunswick.
The free event promises to provide a fun street party vibe with something for everyone.
Live music, food, children's activities and local traders will fill the main street to create a spectacular twilight event.
There will also be local buskers starting the party early throughout the street on the Friday.
If athletics is more your style, head to the Vineyards Running Festival in Nagambie on November 6.
Farmers will enjoy getting together for the 130th Euroa Agricultural Show on October 22 and 23.
To be held at the Euroa showgrounds, there will be numerous events and judging taking place with the majority of horse events to be held on Sunday.
Markets
The Euroa Village Farmers Market is held from 9am to 1pm on the third Saturday of each month in Rotary Park, Kirkland Avenue.
The market features around 30 stalls of fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs in season alongside a fantastic selection of meats – alpaca, lamb and beef, honey, free–range eggs, olive products, Strathbogie region wines and beer, nuts, native plants, exotic plants, sweet treats, quality preserves, organic sourdough breads, fresh cut flowers, heirloom seedlings, live poultry (in season), handmade crafts and jewellery and much more.
Food stalls include a community barbecue, vegetarian Indian take away, great coffee, sweet treats and fabulous local preserves.
Please bring your bags, baskets and trolleys and your four–legged friends – as long as they are on a leash.
The Violet Town Community Market is held the second Saturday of every month at the Recreation Reserve in Tulip Street from 8.30am to 1pm.
With up to 300 stalls packed with fresh produce, arts, crafts, jewellery, wine tastings, plants, tools, furniture and more, fill your basket with fresh bread, tasty cheeses, and organic fruits and vegetables then relax and enjoy live music, hot food, and great coffee.
No dogs (other than service dogs) are permitted at the Violet Town market and it is a non–smoking event.
