Ride the rail trail for fun and fitness

THE Tour de Trail, a family friendly bike ride along the Great Victorian Rail Trail returns on Sunday, March 12.

Organised by the Friends of the Great Victorian Rail Trail (GVRT), the mornings ride is expected to attract cyclists of all ages and family groups to participate in this supported event.

The ride starting and finishing at the Mansfield Visitor Information Centre offers the choice of two destinations; Maindample (28km return) or Bonnie Doon (44km return) including riding across the iconic Lake Eildon rail trail bridge.

Entry fee includes refreshments (tea/coffee/cold drink with muffin) at both turnaround locations before returning to Mansfield where you will be treated to a sausage sizzle by A Third Hand community group.

Water hydration stations to refresh water bottles will be available at both locations.

On–site activities at the start/finish will include live music, a coffee van and displays by local operators along with the drawing of raffle prizes.

Sponsored by the Bendigo Bank, Mansfield and District, this annual event contributes to the community's health and wellbeing by providing the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful multiuse trail.
