Visit Mt Buller this spring

WHILE most people think of Mt Buller exclusively as a winter destination, there is so much to do in the spring that those who have never been, are missing out.

For example, September is when the snow is traditionally the deepest and with more blue–sky days and off peak deals on offer, it makes sense to plan a trip in spring.

You can ski, snowboard or toboggan and the resort is normally open – however you should check mtbuller.com.au for the latest updates.

Mt Stirling offers cross country ski trails, untracked side country bowls and a tall mountain ash forest for a tranquil alpine adventure.

For those who like two wheels instead of two legs, you can enjoy a meandering cycle along the Rail Trail from Mansfield or if you prefer some more bumps and jumps to give your mountain bike skills a workout then check out the Rifle Butts MTB park.

Later in the year when summer rolls around, even more of the huge network of mountain bike trails open up at Mt Buller and Mt Stirling including the legendary Australian Alpine Epic Trail and the beautiful Delatite River Trail from Mt Buller down to Mirimbah Park.

As winter snow melts, the beautiful flora bloom and from October you can drive up to the mountains, grab a map and go for a wander.

You'll be rewarded with sweeping alpine views, spring flowers and even cheeky Mt Buller gnomes to find along the way.

So if you have never consider Mt Buller as a spring destination, put it on your list and see what you've been missing out on.

You'll be glad you did, and it is bound to be the first of many trips to the area.
