Illuminate your autumn

A KALEIDOSCOPE of colour awaits you in Shepparton and Goulburn Valley, as Illuminate returns to the shores of Victoria Park Lake on May 5 and 6.

Mesmerising light installations, music performances and food trucks combine for an immersive experience over two nights.

Incorporating the unique canvas of the Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) exterior, and the natural lake environment, this interactive event will light up Shepparton and Goulburn Valley like never before.

Before the sun sets, take in an exhibition at SAM.

'Ash Keating: Elevation', in the People's Gallery, brings the outside in, with a series of large scale paintings, created as a direct response to Keating's memory and photographic imagery from site visits to Yorta Yorta Country and the Goulburn Valley, to observe the landscape, horizon lines, and weather patterns from an elevated viewpoint.

Make a weekend in this vibrant region and base yourself at one of the lakefront accommodation properties.

Explore the Yanha Gurtji shared pathway network by foot or by bike, with paths weaving from the City Centre, along the Goulburn and Broken rivers, connecting you with the Australian Botanic Gardens.

There you'll find native plants featuring in distinct themed gardens, celebrating the history and diversity of the region.

Climb to the top of honeysuckle rise and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views while admiring the garden's sculptural beauty.

Unwind from your adventures with lunch at one of the many street venues, with laid–back local favourites; The Terminus Hotel, BelCibo & Co, Stanley's and The Milkbar just some of the eateries providing the choice of indoor or outdoor dining.

Diverse menus offer everything from wood fired pizza to local craft beer, so you will be sure to find something to tempt.

Shepparton and Goulburn Valley truly is regional Victoria's abundant, dynamic cultural capital.
