A grand re–opening celebration

MYER Albury recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with a grand re–opening of its newly refurbished store.

After first opening in March 1982, the department store has become a retail institution in Albury/Wodonga and the surrounding regional communities.

The much–anticipated refurbishment includes new lighting, escalators, flooring and fixtures, improved change rooms and customer amenities as well as the removal of many existing walls to open up the store.

In addition to the upgrade, the store has also welcomed several new brands including Forever New, French Connection Womenswear & Menswear, Barbour Menswear, Circa in Emporium, Marcs Handbags, Chloe & Lola and X&Y Women's Active wear, Shoes & Sox Concession and Tommy in Kidswear.

During the in–store 40 year celebrations on April 7, both Myer Albury and Myer Centrepoint Shopping Centre took the opportunity to officially re–open the new–look store.

Presiding over a ceremonial ribbon–cutting event were Albury City Mayor, Cr Kylie King, Myer's General Manager Victoria Susan Braidwood and 40 year serving Myer Albury team member, Brett Harvey.

"Our Albury team were so excited to open our fully refurbished store to the community – it looks amazing and the response already from customers has been so positive," Myer Albury store manager Chris Boneham said.

"It really showcases our brands and extensive offering in the best possible way in a modern, fresh and bright new layout."

"The improvements ensure an even better experience for our loyal customers."

Myer Centrepoint Centre Manager, Sam Lambert, said that they were absolutely thrilled to see the much–anticipated store refurbishment come to life in the centre.

"For 40 years Myer has served the Albury/Wodonga region, and has become part of the very fabric of our local community," she said.

Long–serving Myer team member, Brett Harvey, said he had worked in every part of the store and knows what the store means to the Albury community.

"Having been there for the opening in 1982, it was such an honour to cut the ribbon on behalf of the Myer team, to officially open the refurbished store, and to mark 40 years of trade," Mr Harvey said.

"It has been great to hear the positive feedback about the refurbished store."

Myer Albury is located in the Myer Centrepoint Shopping Centre at 525 David Street, Albury.
