Paint the town red for jazz and blues

EVER since the Wangaratta Jazz Festival kicked off in 1990 the Wangaratta community has embraced it, grown with it and celebrated it in so many different ways.

School classes have created artworks that were displayed by volunteers in public places such as shop windows and the Post Office arcade, songs were written and performed, instruments created by local school kids and musicians helped them to share their songs with everyone, colourful flags with poems lined the streets, pianos sat on bridges and were played by passers-by.

For many years bands rehearsed and performed, local musos played to packed audiences and artists responded to the call to enter in the legendary JAZZ Art Award.
